My name is Scott Anderson. I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Hohoe Ghana from June 2009 until September 2013, where I found the inspiration for Our Talking Hands. I graduated with a Masters in Fine Arts from Ohio University. Following graduate school, I served in New Orleans as an AmeriCorps member, where I worked with inspiring people who were helping to rebuild New Orleans. I followed my service with AmeriCorps, by taking a bicycle trip across the United States. I rode from San Diego, California to Saint Augustine, Florida, raising money for The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Project Homecoming (Katrina Disaster Recovery), and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am passionate about my endeavours and love adventure.
Today, I find myself working as the Pre-Service Training Director for Peace Corps Ghana. This takes the majority of my time, but I manage to work with our team in Ghana and our partners to break down stigmas and discriminatory practices. I remain passionate about the mission of Our Talking Hands and envision sustained growth in the years to come.
